This is… THE GREAT AMERICAN FOOTBALL ROAD TRIP ODYSSEY of 2025: NFL bucket list road trip travel guide

Game No. 1 - Stadium No. 1

Sunday, September 7th - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns @ Huntington Bank Field, Cleveland, OH - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, September 7th - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns @ Huntington Bank Field, Cleveland, OH - Kickoff: 1 PM

In week one of the NFL’s football season, we’re kicking things off on Sunday, September 7th in Cleveland, Ohio. Although this isn’t the official kickoff game (which you could add to your itinerary if you’re willing to front the hefty price tag) this is the first Sunday of the regular NFL season. If you want to attend the kickoff game, you’ll have to head to Philadelphia for the Dallas Cowboys matchup against the Eagles on Thursday, September 4th.

But again, we’re kicking things off for our NFL bucket list road trip travel guide on September 7th at Huntington Bank Field, home of the Cleveland Browns. You’ll catch a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals at one o’clock in the afternoon. Huntington Bank Field is known for its passionate fans, specifically in the east end zone, which has been dubbed “The Dawg Pound.” The stadium underwent a $125 million modernization in 2015. Watch these two Ohio teams go head to head and grab dinner out on the town. Your stay in Cleveland won’t last long because you have a game to catch at Soldier Field the very next day.

Game No. 2 - Stadium No. 2

Monday, September 8th - Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears @ Soldier Field, Chicago, IL - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Monday, September 8th - Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears @ Soldier Field, Chicago, IL - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

After a five-and-a-half hour drive to the windy city, Chicago, Illinois, you’ll arrive in plenty of time for an 8:15 evening game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday, September 8th! Soldier Field opened over 100 years ago in 1924, and became the permanent home of the Bears in 1971.

We’re off to a good pace, with two games under our belt in week one.

Game No. 3 - Stadium No. 3

Thursday, September 11th - Washington Commanders vs. Green Bay Packers @ Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, September 11th - Washington Commanders vs. Green Bay Packers @ Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Three days later, as we move into week 2, is the matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field, the Packers home turf on Thursday, September 11th. It’s a short drive of only about 3 and a half hours, so you’ll have plenty of time to kill in Chicago or Green Bay. This evening game begins at 8:15. Lambeau Field opened in 1957 with just over 32,000 seats. Today, the stadium has more than doubled its capacity with 72,515 seats. This is the oldest stadium in continuous operation within the NFL built for the specific purpose of housing a professional football team.

Let’s check the odometer. So far, you’ve added 556 miles in total on this trip, and we’ve barely scratched the surface.

Game No. 4 - Stadium No. 4

Sunday, September 14th - Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets @ MetLife Stadium, Rutherford, NJ - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, September 14th - Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets @ MetLife Stadium, Rutherford, NJ - Kickoff: 1 PM

To catch our fourth matchup, you’ll be putting in some distance as you drive to MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey. In this Sunday, September 14th game, the Buffalo Bills go up against the New York Jets on the Jets’ home turf, starting at one o’clock. MetLife Stadium has the greatest capacity out of all NFL stadiums, able to seat 82,500 fans. This is the first of two stadiums that are shared by two professional teams. We’ll be returning to MetLife Stadium later on in our journey to catch a home game for the New York Giants.

That trek from Wisconsin to New York dialed our odometer up a total of 1,547 miles so far.

Game No. 5 - Stadium No. 5

Thursday, September 18th - Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills @ Highmark Stadium, Buffalo, NY - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, September 18th - Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills @ Highmark Stadium, Buffalo, NY - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Take your time in New York state, because you’re not due for the next matchup until Thursday, September 18th in Buffalo, New York. A reasonable drive of six hours between the New York City metro and Buffalo, this 8:15 evening game pits the Miami Dolphins against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium. This open air stadium is the fourth oldest stadium in the NFL. Highmark Stadium has always used artificial turf, never natural grass.

Game No. 6 - Stadium No. 6

Sunday, September 21st - Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles @ Acrisure Stadium, Philadelphia, PA - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, September 21st - Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles @ Lincoln Financial Stadium, Philadelphia, PA - Kickoff: 1 PM

Next up on our trip we’re heading to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. On Sunday, September 21st, the LA Rams are going up against the Eagles at one o’clock at Lincoln Financial Field. This environmentally conscious stadium was built in 2003, featuring solar panels and wind turbines to conserve energy! You can catch some great views of downtown Philly from one of the stadium’s three open plaza corners with excellent city views.

We’ve officially passed 2,000 miles on our journey.

Monday, September 22nd - Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens @ M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Only about 100 miles away, you’ll catch a Monday night game in Baltimore, Maryland. The Detroit Lions go up against the Baltimore Ravens for an evening game at 8:15 on September 22nd. This game marks the third matchup of the NFL season’s third week, the first of four weeks where you’ll be catching three games! M&T Bank Stadium features two RavensVisions jumbo screens which display 16 million colors, so even in the high seats you’ll be immersed in the action. The stadium is also recognized for its sustainability. It’s the first outdoor professional sports facility to receive the LEED Gold Certification, a green building rating system.

Game No. 8 - Stadium No. 8

Sunday, September 28th - Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay, FL - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, September 28th - Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay, FL - Kickoff: 1 PM

We’re heading down to the Gulf for our next matchup on Sunday, September 28th in Tampa Bay. It’s a 14 hour drive to Raymond James Stadium where the Philadelphia Eagles go up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This stadium has hosted three super bowls, in 2001, 2019, and 2021. In 2021, the Buccaneers earned the honor of being the first team to play and win a Super Bowl on their home turf. Kickoff for this Sunday afternoon game is 1 o’clock.

Game No. 9 - Stadium No. 9

Monday, September 29th - New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins @ Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, FL - Kickoff: 7:15 PM

Monday, September 29th - New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins @ Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, FL - Kickoff: 7:15 PM

We’re heading south to Miami the next day, on the other side of Florida’s coast. This 7:15 evening game pits the New York Jets against the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on Monday, September 29th. This stadium has an impressive history, hosting six Super Bowls, two World Series, and the Orange Bowl. It was the first multipurpose stadium in the United States to be privately funded, built in 1987 as Joe Robbie Stadium.

Ten games down and only 22 more to go! We’ve put 3,500 miles on the odometer. We’re heading up the East coast to Charlotte, South Carolina next.

Game No. 10 - Stadium No. 10

Sunday, October 5th - Miami Dolphins vs. Carolina Panthers @ Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, October 5th - Miami Dolphins vs. Carolina Panthers @ Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC - Kickoff: 1 PM

On Sunday, October 5, the Miami Dolphins are going up against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. This early afternoon game kicks off at 1 o’clock. You’ll make this ten hour drive from Miami to Charlotte easily with six days between the two, so maybe a couple beach days or a stop at an Orlando theme park are in order. When you arrive on game day, check out the largest bronze panther statues ever commissioned in the United States at the stadium entrance. The Panthers share this stadium with Charlotte FC, Charlotte’s major league soccer team.

Game No. 11 - Stadium No. 11

Monday, October 6th - Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars @ EverBank Stadium, Jacksonville, FL - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Monday, October 6th - Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars @ EverBank Stadium, Jacksonville, FL - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

The next day, it’s a five and half hour drive back down to Jacksonville, Florida for an 8:15 evening game at EverBank Stadium. It’s the Kansas City Chiefs against the Jaguars for this Monday night matchup on October 6th. EverBank Stadium has the largest video boards, not just in the country, but the whole world! The stadium even features two swimming pools in the north end zone where fans can cool off as they watch the game!

We’ve hit up a dozen stadiums and seen a dozen teams so far, but we’re at the point where our list is going to start looking a bit askew. This is because we’re returning to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where the New York Giants are set to play on Thursday night. So, while we’re counting 12 team home games, we’re holding at 11 stadiums total so far.

Game No. 12 - Stadium No. 11

Thursday, October 9th - Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants @ MetLife Stadium, Rutherford, NJ - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, October 9th - Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants @ MetLife Stadium, Rutherford, NJ - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

As we already covered, MetLife stadium is shared by the New York Jets and the New York Giants. Now we’re seeing the latter team on their home turf against the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s a bit of a jog, over 900 miles from Jacksonville to East Rutherford, New Jersey, but you have a couple days to make the trek. This Thursday, October 9th game begins at 8:15 in the evening. Here’s another fun fact about MetLife Stadium: this stadium was the most expensive ever built with an eye-watering price tag of $1.6 billion. This Giants versus Eagles game kicks off a packed week of games as we enter week six of the NFL season. Weeks six and seven we’ll be hitting up three games each week before things settle down a bit in week eight.

Game No. 13 - Stadium No. 12

Sunday, October 12th - Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers @ Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, October 12th - Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers @ Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA - Kickoff: 1 PM

For our next game we’re taking a drive to the Steel City, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On Sunday, October 12th, the Cleveland Browns are going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers for this early afternoon game at one o’clock. Acrisure Stadium, home of the Steelers, was built using 12,000 tons of steel, a nod to Pittsburgh’s famed steel industry.

If you haven’t stopped for an oil change at this rate, you’d better get into the shop, because we’re pushing nearly 6,000 miles traveled so far!

Game No. 14 - Stadium No. 13

Monday, October 13th - Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders @ Northwest Stadium, Landover, MA - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Monday, October 13th - Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders @ Northwest Stadium, Landover, MA - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Onward we march to Landover, Maryland, just a few miles outside of the nation’s capital. Here we’ll find the home turf of the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium. This Monday night 8:15 game pits the Chicago Bears against the Commanders on October 13th. Did you know Northwest Stadium once boasted the largest capacity of any NFL stadium? Once seating more than 90,000 fans, the removal of seats to include party decks and other renovations lowered the capacity to less than 68,000.

Game No. 15 - Stadium No. 14

Thursday, October 16th - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals @ Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, OH - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, October 16th - Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals @ Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, OH - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

We’re heading to southern Ohio for our first game of week 7 for a Thursday night game between the Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. The October 16th game takes place at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati at 8:15. Featuring great views of the Ohio river and Cincinnati skyline, this open air field is nicknamed “The Jungle”. Spend some time admiring the masterful architecture at Paycor Stadium because this was the first NFL stadium to earn a design award from the American Institute of Architects for its unique modern design elements.

Game No. 16 - Stadium No. 15

Sunday, October 19th - New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans @ Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, October 19th - New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans @ Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN - Kickoff: 1 PM

On Sunday afternoon, you’ll find yourself in the heart of “Music City”, Nashville, Tennessee. On October 19th, the New England Patriots go up against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium at one o’clock. This may be your last chance to visit Nissan Stadium as it stands now, because this stadium is slated for demolition. But don’t fear, the new Nissan Stadium is well under construction and is anticipated to open to NFL fans for the 2027 season.

We’ve climbed up to just over 7,000 miles on the odometer. The final game of week 7 is an 8 hour drive northwest to Detroit.

Game No. 17 - Stadium No. 16

Monday, October 20th - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions @ Ford Field, Detroit, MI - Kickoff: 7 PM

Monday, October 20th - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions @ Ford Field, Detroit, MI - Kickoff: 7 PM

On Monday, October 20th, you’ll catch the 7 o’clock game pitting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. This stadium is one-of-a-kind, incorporating the former Hudson’s Department Store warehouse into its design. With plenty of natural light from plentiful skylights and windows, Ford Field can host both football and basketball games.

Game No. 18 - Stadium No. 17

Sunday, October 26th - Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts @ Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN - Kickoff: 4:25 PM

Sunday, October 26th - Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts @ Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN - Kickoff: 4:25 PM

Take a bit of a breather between the Lions game and our next matchup in Indianapolis, coming up on Sunday, October 26th. In our first game of week 8, the Titans go head to head with the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium with a 4:25 kickoff. Lucas Oil Stadium features not only a retractable roof, but also a first-of-its-kind retractable window to give excellent views of downtown Indy. It takes around 9 minutes for both of the stadium’s 2.5 million pound retractable roof panels to open or close.

Game No. 19 - Stadium No. 18

Monday, October 27th - Washington Commanders vs. Kansas City Chiefs @ Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Monday, October 27th - Washington Commanders vs. Kansas City Chiefs @ Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Our final stop of week 8 takes us deep into the heart of the country in Kansas City. You’ll want to bring a pair of earplugs along for the next game featuring the Washington Commanders versus the Kansas City Chiefs, because Arrowhead Stadium holds the world record for loudest outdoor stadium thanks to its passionate fans. How loud? One particularly boisterous game against the Patriots reached over 142 decibels, the equivalent of a firecracker or a jet engine at close range. For reference, anything over 140 decibels falls under the threshold for pain. Ouch. Let’s hope the volume for the Monday night game on October 27th is just a bit more reasonable. Commanders and Chiefs kickoff at 8:15.

We’ve covered 8,329 miles in the Great American Football Road Trip Odyssey of 2025. And we’ve got a lot of distance yet to cover!

Game No. 20 - Stadium No. 19

Sunday, November 2nd - Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans @ NRG Stadium, Houston, TX - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, November 2nd - Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans @ NRG Stadium, Houston, TX - Kickoff: 1 PM

With Kansas City to our backs, we’re heading to the Lone Star State of Texas. More specifically, we’re en route to Houston to catch a Sunday afternoon game at one o’clock between the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans. This game is our first for the month of November, on November 2nd, which means we’re nearing 2 months on the road! That’s a lot of gas and football! NRG stadium, the Texans home stadium, beat Lucas Oil to the punch because NRG was the first NFL stadium to feature a retractable roof. On top of that, the roof at NRG opens or closes in around 7 minutes, a full two minutes faster than Lucas Oil’s roof.

Game No. 21 - Stadium No. 20

Monday, November 3rd - Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys @ AT&T Stadium, Dallas, TX - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Monday, November 3rd - Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys @ AT&T Stadium, Dallas, TX - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Only about four hours away, we’re hitting up Texas's other NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, November 3rd. At 8:15 in the evening, this Monday matchup pits the Arizona Cardinals against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. This stadium is huge. So huge, you can see it from outer space. It’s the largest domed stadium in the world. It has a capacity to hold more than 100,000 fans standing. Lady Liberty is welcome here, because the entire Statue of Liberty can fit inside when the stadium roof is closed.

We’re closing in on 10,000 miles, which we’ll hit once we’ve traveled to our next matchup in Denver, Colorado.

Game No. 22 - Stadium No. 21

Thursday, November 6th - Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos @ Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, November 6th - Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos @ Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

This Thursday night matchup at Empower Field at Mile High pits the Las Vegas Raiders against the Denver Broncos. Kicking off at 8:15 on November 6, this is the first of two games for week 10. If ever there was a home team advantage, it would be here. Empower Field at Mile High gets its “Mile High” nickname thanks to its altitude, 5,280 feet above sea level, which means visiting teams often have a tough time acclimating to the thinner atmosphere.

Game No. 23 - Stadium No. 22

Sunday, November 9th - Baltimore Ravens vs. Minnesota Vikings @ US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, November 9th - Baltimore Ravens vs. Minnesota Vikings @ US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN - Kickoff: 1 PM

It’s a 13 hour drive to our next destination in Minneapolis, Minnesota. But don’t worry, you’ve got two days between games to get there.

On Sunday, November 9th, the Baltimore Ravens go up against the Minnesota Vikings at US Bank Stadium at one o’clock in the afternoon. If you like to get close to the action, this stadium has your chance to get close - with the closest seats to the field out of any NFL stadium. This stadium has played a huge role in revitalizing downtown Minneapolis, with over $1 billion of positive local economic impact since its construction in 2002.

Alright, so we both know how wild this whole Great American Football Road Trip Odyssey is, right? Or have you forgotten? Either way, I’ve gotten you this far. But with our next destination, I’m going to ask you to trust me - I haven’t led you astray yet… ready to take a leap of faith? Alright, here goes. From Minneapolis, Minnesota, we’re taking a massive leap of nearly 1,400 miles to Foxborough, Massachusetts, home of the New England Patriots. Look at it this way - you have four days to make this long haul across seven states - about a five and a half hour daily drive when you break it up.

Game No. 24 - Stadium No. 23

Thursday, November 13th - New York Jets vs. New England Patriots @ Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, November 13th - New York Jets vs. New England Patriots @ Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

The New York Jets are up against the New England Patriots on Thursday, November 13th at Gillette Stadium. It’s a late evening game at 8:15, so no worries if you’ve got a late start to your morning drive. If you lose your way en route to the stadium, just look for the 22 story lighthouse built into the stadium! This is the tallest lighthouse in the United States and the views from the top in what’s known as “the lookout” offer amazing views of the stadium, Boston, and Providence. If this isn’t big enough for you, the stadium also holds the record for the largest outdoor end zone screen in NFL history.

Our next stop in our Great American Football Odyssey is a little closer than our last trek. We’re heading down to the “A-Town” in the Peach State for a Sunday afternoon game between the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons.

Game No. 25 - Stadium No. 24

Sunday, November 16th - Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons @ Mercedes Benz Stadium - Atlanta, GA - Kickoff: 1 PM

Sunday, November 16th - Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons @ Mercedes Benz Stadium - Atlanta, GA - Kickoff: 1 PM

A drive of just over 16 hours will take you to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. You’ll need to spend a bit more time on the road in the two days between games, about 8 hours each, to make this one work, unless you want to roll in right at kickoff. This matchup between the Panthers and the Falcons begins at one o’clock on Sunday, November 16th. This stadium is the first pro stadium in North America to get a platinum certification from LEED, which is the highest honor awarded by LEED, recognizing the green efforts that went into building the stadium. If you’re looking for a good deal on concessions,

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is known for its affordable hot dogs and beers. Although other stadiums have retractable roofs, this stadium might have the coolest one. Eight triangular panels open and close in a circular motion, which looks like a camera shutter opening and closing. Pretty cool. The epic 360 degree halo board is a one-of-a-kind LED screen that circles the entirety of the field above the stadium. And if those weren’t interesting enough, then maybe I can sell you on the “window to the city”, a huge window with panoramic views of Atlanta’s skyline. Basically what I’m saying is: this stadium is worth the long drive!

I promise the next stop is a closer drive. You’re heading to Caesar's!... No don’t panic, I’m not sending you to Vegas quite yet, I’m talking about Caesar's Superdome in New Orleans!

Game No. 26 - Stadium No. 25

Sunday, November 23rd - Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints @ Caesar’s Superdome, New Orleans, LA - Kickoff 4:25 PM

Sunday, November 23rd - Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints @ Caesar’s Superdome, New Orleans, LA - Kickoff 4:25 PM

On Sunday, November 23rd, you’ll follow the Atlanta Falcons to the home turf of the New Orleans Saints. Kickoff is 4:25 for the only game you’re going to catch for week 12 of the NFL schedule. Caesar’s Superdome is the largest fixed-dome structure in the world, constructed entirely of steel without any posts or columns to obstruct your view. The roof covers 9.7 acres!

With so much momentum, this next sentence might be hard to hear - you’re not catching any games for week 13 of the NFL schedule. Let me explain… We’ve hit up all of the stadiums on the east coast, midwest, and south. You’ll need your strength before we take on the final leg of our journey, so enjoy your Thanksgiving feast and enjoy Turkey Day Football on your TV set. If you’re dying to keep the momentum going on Thanksgiving day, you can always catch a game in Detroit, Dallas or Baltimore. But because we’ve already hit up these locations, we’re not going to repeat them on our list.

Plus, you’ve covered a staggering 14,000 miles up to this point in our journey.

Once you’ve digested all that turkey and the tryptophan has worn off, it’s time to hit the road again. We’re heading to Caesars… The palace this time. At least… we’re heading to Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada for our next matchup.

Game No. 27 - Stadium No. 26

Sunday, December 7th - Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders @ Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV - Kickoff: 4:05 PM

Sunday, December 7th - Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders @ Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV - Kickoff: 4:05 PM

Our first game in two weeks, brings us to Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, December 7th. It’s week 14 of the NFL schedule and we’re about to finish this epic road trip strong. Assuming you’re leaving from our last matchup in New Orleans, which let’s face it is probably not the case, you have a 25 hour drive ahead of you to Vegas. Broken apart across two weeks, you’re looking at an average drive of less than two hours a day.

However you want to get there, and within whatever timeframe, the more than 1,700 miles will need to be covered somehow. This Sunday afternoon kickoff pits the Denver Broncos against the Las Vegas Raiders at 4:05 p.m. Allegiant Stadium was one of the fastest built stadiums in the NFL, taking only 31 months to complete. We’ve heard of retractable roofs, but what about retractable grass? This field features a moveable natural grass field which is housed in a 20 million pound tray when not in use.

Game No. 28 - Stadium No. 27

Monday, December 8th - Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Chargers @ SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, CA - 8:15 PM

Monday, December 8th - Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Chargers @ SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, CA - 8:15 PM

We’re heading to the city of Angels, next, Los Angeles. This drive pales in comparison to the trek you just made across the country, only coming to around four and a half hours from Vegas to LA. It’s a good thing, too, because this game comes right on the heels of the Vegas game. Catch the Philadelphia Eagles against the LA Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Monday, December 8th at 8:15 p.m. Despite there being three more teams to catch in our epic football roadtrip, we only have two more stadiums to see. That’s because the LA Chargers share SoFi Stadium with the LA Rams.

Game No. 29 - Stadium No. 28

Sunday, December 14th - Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Rams @ SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, CA - Kickoff: 4:25 PM

Sunday, December 14th - Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Rams @ SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, CA - Kickoff: 4:25 PM

Speaking of the LA Rams, you’ll catch them at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, December 14th against the Detroit Lions. Kickoff for this game is 4:25 p.m. This is the only game you’ll be catching for week 15 of the NFL schedule before we hit up two games during week 16 and one last game in week 17! Paranoid fans rest assured because SoFi Stadium is surrounded by a “seismic moat” and its roof is supported by 37 earthquake resistant columns to protect it from earthquakes. The stadium also features the Infinity Screen by Samsung, which is a dual-sided 4K video board that is wider and longer than the field - the largest in the NFL.

Game No. 30 - Stadium No. 28

Thursday, December 18th - Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks @ Lumen Field, Seattle, WA - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

Thursday, December 18th - Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks @ Lumen Field, Seattle, WA - Kickoff: 8:15 PM

For the second to last week of our epic adventure, you’re heading up the Pacific coast to Seattle, Washington. It’s week 16 and we’re following the LA Rams on a 17 and a half hour drive to Lumen Field for our 30th game of the Great American Football Road Trip Odyssey of 2025.. Kickoff is 8:15 on Thursday, December 18th against the Seattle Seahawks. Lumen Field features a 13-story vertical scoreboard, the first of its kind in the NFL. Your 2025 visit will be the last to see the stadium with artificial grass because Lumen Field is getting an upgrade to natural grass in 2026 for the World Cup.

Our journey is coming to a close, but there’s not time to get sentimental just yet. Because you have to haul it to make it to Glendale, Arizona on Sunday. It’s just over 21 hours to get to State Farm Stadium, so you’re looking at upwards of 10 hours a day if you split this bear of a drive up into two days. You could shave a little time off each day by pulling into Glendale on game day, but make sure you’re there in time for the 4:05 kickoff.

Game No. 31 - Stadium No. 29

Sunday, December 21st - Atlanta Falcons vs. Arizona Cardinals @ State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ - Kickoff: 4:05 PM

Sunday, December 21st - Atlanta Falcons vs. Arizona Cardinals @ State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ - Kickoff: 4:05 PM

The Atlanta Falcons take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, December 21st at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This stadium has all kinds of retractable features: a retractable roof and a retractable natural grass field. Inspired by the barrel cactus, the exterior of this building features rounded metal panels.

You’ve been on the road for nearly four months now. As we roll into the end of December, hopefully somebody thought of you and got you tickets to the 2026 Super Bowl! But just a few days past Christmas, we have one more stop to complete our 30 stadium, 32 home game NFL tour. We’re bringing it to a close at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Game No. 32 - Stadium No. 30

Sunday, December 28th - Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers @ Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA - Kickoff: 8:20 PM

Sunday, December 28th - Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers @ Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA - Kickoff: 8:20 PM

Now that you made it to Levi’s Stadium you can fall to your knees and cry if you feel like that’s appropriate. But you’ve just arrived to game number 32 and the 30th and final NFL stadium on your epic Great American Football Odyssey of 2025. What an accomplishment! Of course, you could have broken this trip up into several smaller trips over a period of a few years, but it’s too late to think rationally now.

It’s Sunday, December 28th, and the Chicago Bears are going up against the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff at Levi’s Stadium is at 8:20 PM. Atop the suite tower, this stadium features a green roof with 40 different types of vegetation. The WiFi at this stadium is blazing fast and features high tech amenities for fans, thanks to its close proximity to the Silicon Valley. Another astonishing feature of this stadium is anyone who was bold enough to take on the Great American Football Odyssey of 2025. You deserve a bronze statue cast in your honor. Don’t believe me? Let’s look at the final stats.

This entire journey has accumulated an astonishing, tire-balding, head-scratching, mind-blowing, 19,213 miles on our scorching hot odometer.

From our first matchup back on September 7th in Cleveland of all places, we’ve covered an impressive amount of ground. You’ve enjoyed more live NFL entertainment in just four months than most people could enjoy in seventeen lifetimes. Disclaimer, this statement is probably wildly inaccurate, but after all you’ve accomplished it sounds right. You could leave Levi’s Stadium and say you’ve done it all, you can die happy. But… and a big but at that… if you’ve gone to all this trouble, why not go all the way?

2026 is the year of Super Bowl LX, the 60th NFL Super Bowl. And guess what? You can collapse right where you’re at and wait until February 8th, 2026 because Levi’s Stadium is hosting the Super Bowl game! Of course, you might want to go home, shower, and take some R&R before you come back.
